Gerald Ledford
Hi, I'm Gerald Ledford (G Dubya) Autopsy Technician from Arkansas.
In 2018 I was 393lbs I was a prediabetic. I set a goal to get 10k steps consistently every day. I found a 5k race would give me half the steps I needed , a t-shirt and a medal. So, the medal, I mean, race addiction was born.
I started signing up for as many races as I could, and eventually a 10k, then a half marathon. During my first Half Marathon I was so excited to walk/run 13 miles. At mile TWO I felt knee pain, so I limped the last 11 miles. Later an MRI showed I had a stress fracture, AND a medal to show for it.
I love inspiring people to keep showing up no matter what size they are. I am down to 245lbs and have finished 5 Full marathons, several 1/2's, 10k's, 5k's, several Sprint Triathlons and one Olympic Triathlon. I joined my first Running Club three years ago and this year helped found a new running club in Little Rock for all abilities, Fun Arkansas Run Team.
I was the very first race ambassador for the 2025 Little Rock Marathon, also race ambassador for the Tulsa Route 66 Marathon. In 2026 a race ambassador for Texarkana TX/AR Run the line Marathon and Little Rock Marathon for a second year in a row.
